The "Order Management" module provides applications to enter and maintain different order types and inquiries as well as to take over order data from an order entry system already implemented in the Corporate Information System.
With this Order Management module designed to meet the unique requirements of the steel industry, an ordered product is specified by attributes, e.g. dimensions, quality and surface characteristics (not using discrete part numbers like systems whose heritage is traditional ERP / MRP environments).
By using site-specific master data, this SteelPlanner module provides for the verification of sales order and inquiry data being downloaded or entered. An order verification message can be sent to inform the Level 4 system that an order was verified by the SteelPlanner Order Management Module successfully. To support improved customer service, an order information module is available to monitor the status of orders during production and dispatch, to provide reliable and up-to-date information on the completion of orders and order items.
The solutions proposed by the SteelPlanner SYM system are based on cutting edge optimization algorithms specifically developed for yard management in the steel industry.
