BetaPlanner HSM
BetaPlanner automatically generates mill schedules and handles all important aspects in the milling process including upstream and downstream constraints. It serves as a decision support solution for the mill scheduling. The generated schedules can be modified and have to be accepted before releasing them to production.
Based on the available material units (slabs) and the assigned mill production orders, BetaPlanner generates mill coil sequences as well as a reheating furnace slab loading schedule considering the technological and logistical rules and constraints of the mill.
BetaPlanner is highly configurable and allows the creation and customization of scenarios often utilized during the scheduling of the mill (e.g. time horizon for scheduling, material yard implications, production order situation ...).
BetaPlanner's flexible and configurable optimization algorithm uses exclusive scoring functions to direct the search and the optimization.
BetaPlanner is also capable to schedule multiple parallel processing mills (BetaPlanner Multi).
With this project, we target to increase the quality of the production sequences, with the different business gains linked to it. We selected AIS mainly for the maturity of their solution BetaPlanner, concerning the short term scheduling optimization and editing.
