System Services
The "System Services" module is used to define three primary classes of site configured information - master data, user access / menu control data, and context sensitive on-line help files.
Master Data Management
SteelPlanner master data includes the information which describe products, resources, process routes and all related technological master data or data which controls the behavior of the system. Definition of master data is a significant step toward creating unified, plant-wide business processes and common definitions for product and process.
User Access and Menu System
For each group of users, e.g. planner group, quality group, supervisors, etc., access rights can be defined and the menu of functions available to the group can be controlled. Subsequently, each individual user can be assigned to one or more user group(s). The use of groups and assignment of individuals to groups, serves for flexible assignment of access rights to each user or to groups of users playing a specific role within the plant's day to day operation.
On-line Help
The SteelPlanner Solution provides application specific, context-sensitive help. These standard HELP files can be created / maintained using a Windows help compiler (e.g. Microsoft® Help Workshop) which supports WinHelp.
BetaPlanner allowed us to migrate our obsolete information systems to the Information Technology of the 21st century.
