SPS - Forecaster
SPS-Forecaster is designed to help build reliable forecasts and demand plans for a business. SPS-Forecaster assists in creating forecasts based on historic orders/events using a variety of advanced techniques and allows users to easily make manual adaptations to the plan. These corrections include canceling out promotions, taxes and price increase.
The SPS-Forecaster model maintains forecast data in "trees". Separate trees can be created for example for products, geographical locations and clients. Each tree may have as many branches and sublevels as needed.
Forecasts can be created on a global level or on any node of the trees (i.e.: Create a forecast on the demand for Hot Coils in France for the next year). A given forecast can be propagated up or down in a tree. Using this tree-model, SPS-Forecaster enables different departments (multi-user environment) to create their forecasts on different levels and to propagate them up towards a final or semi-final global forecast.
Apart from the built-in forecasting techniques, SPS-Forecaster contains an embedded scripting language in which user-defined forecasting methods can be written. Forecasts can be manually adjusted by the user or created from scratch in a user-friendly environment.
We have been cooperating with AIS for many years. In October 2007 we completed a common project: Implementation of BetaPlanner at the walking beam furnace. With this project, we target to optimize the furnace scheduling process for the different types of furnaces and to keep the conditions of the mill scheduling process.
