AlphaPlanner
AlphaPlanner automatically generates casting schedules and handles all important aspects in the casting process including upstream and downstream constraints. It serves as a decision support solution for the caster scheduling. The generated schedules can be modified and have to be accepted before releasing them to production.
Based on the slab/billets/blooms demand (production orders) from the market and/or from the downstream production units, AlphaPlanner generates ladle and tundish sequences as well as a cutting plan for each caster considering the metallurgical, technological and logistical rules and constraints. AlphaPlanner is multi-caster and multi-strands enabled.
AlphaPlanner is highly configurable and allows the creation and customization of scenarios often utilized during the scheduling of the continuous caster (e.g. time horizon for scheduling, order book situation, production unit status). AlphaPlanner's flexible optimization algorithm uses exclusive scoring functions to direct the search and the optimization.
With Steelplanner APS, we intent to improve our delivery performance towards our customers while reducing significantly leadtimes and stocks and optimizing the utilization of our installations.
