Transport Control
The "Transport Control" module defines the material handling equipment and supervisory transportation control schemes needed for improved co-ordination and automation of the materials movements to rigorously scheduled events.
The "Transport Control" can be used with manual methods or can be supplemented by a crane / vehicle communication system in order to improve transport logistics within the plant.
For transport task creation a rule-based software module can be supplied. This knowledge-based "Transport Optimizer" creates transport tasks for material to be transported from a stockyard to a production unit (using the production schedule) or after processing, from a production unit into a stockyard. For piled material, the optimization includes piling of material according to individually defined piling rules.
We selected BetaPlanner for the detailed scheduling of the hot strip mill for its flexibility and the ability to model, within a few days, realistic coffins.
